An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced strategic housing leader to join an ambitious and forward-thinking district council at a pivotal time in its future.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive and forming part of the Senior Management Team, you will provide corporate leadership across the Housing and Communities portfolio.
While the portfolio includes community services, this role has a strong emphasis on strategic housing, homelessness, housing options, private sector housing and partnership working, making it an ideal opportunity for an experienced housing professional looking to broaden their corporate leadership responsibilities.
Working closely with elected Members, Registered Providers, NHS partners, local county partners and a wide range of public, private and voluntary sector organisations, you will drive strategic housing delivery while providing leadership across the wider communities portfolio.
You'll be expected to influence at corporate level, develop strong partnerships and ensure high-quality services continue to meet the needs of local communities.
This is a rare opportunity to join a progressive Senior Management Team where you'll have genuine influence over organisational strategy and help shape the future direction of services during a period of significant change.
About You
We're keen to speak with senior leaders who can demonstrate
- Significant strategic leadership experience within Housing.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and statutory housing services.
- Experience leading Housing Options, Homelessness, Strategic Housing and/or Private Sector Housing services.
- A successful track record of working with Registered Providers and external partners.
- Experience advising elected Members and operating confidently within a political environment.
- Excellent leadership, partnership and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to contribute strategically as part of a high-performing corporate leadership team.
