Weβre recruiting on behalf of a well-established business for an experienced Management Accountant to take ownership of day-to-day finance operations and monthly reporting across multiple entities. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident managing cashflow, producing management accounts, and working closely with Directors to support commercial decision-making.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing group cashflow, bank accounts and supplier payments, advising Directors on financial position and strategy
- Overseeing daily ledger activity, including sales, purchase and cash postings
- Maintaining accurate profit & loss accounts and balance sheets, investigating and correcting mispostings
- Reviewing expense invoices, accruals and prepayments, and ensuring contract costs are correctly applied
- Producing weekly sales analysis by division, including comparisons to budget and prior year
- Preparing monthly management accounts, gross profit reporting and stock/work-in-progress valuations
- Completing bank reconciliations and senior payroll
- Managing utilities, tenant charges, health scheme memberships and self-billing arrangements
- Handling VAT calculations, intercompany reconciliations and loan balances
- Supporting year-end processes, audit packs and budget preparation
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong experience in management accounts and financial reporting
- Excellent Excel skills, including data queries and reporting tools
- Experience with Sage 50 (or similar accounting software)
- A proactive, detail-focused approach with the confidence to liaise directly with senior stakeholders
