This is not a traditional dispatch role.

We are looking for the business specialist on imports, exports and international logistics – someone who understands the legislation and compliance behind moving goods globally and can resolve issues when shipments become held up at customs.

This aligns closely with the original brief’s emphasis on compliance, customs and process ownership rather than physical dispatch.

The Role

  • Act as the internal specialist for import/export legislation, customs and compliance.
  • Manage rules of origin, commodity codes, customs documentation and supplier declarations.
  • Troubleshoot customs issues and delays, working with carriers, freight forwarders and customs agents to unlock shipments.
  • Act as the key logistics contact for the industrial team and its global shipments.
  • Manage import clearances and international freight requirements.
  • Oversee carrier performance, freight costs and logistics issues.
  • Ensure documentation and processes remain accurate, compliant and audit-ready.

About You

We are looking for someone with strong, hands-on international import/export experience, ideally gained within a manufacturing or product-based environment.

You'll understand UK customs requirements, export documentation, commercial invoices, commodity codes and rules of origin, and be confident dealing with freight forwarders, carriers and customs agents.

Experience with CDS, C88, MSS, inward processing relief or other duty-management regimes would be advantageous.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced international logistics professional who wants to become the go-to specialist for import/export and customs within a business
