We're partnering with a purpose-led Yorkshire manufacturer that's entering an exciting period of growth following recent investment. They're looking to appoint an Interim Financial Controller for an initial six-month assignment while they recruit permanently. Whether you're looking for a fixed-term contract or a day-rate assignment, they're open to discussing the right engagement model for the right individual.

This is a broad, hands-on role where you'll work closely with senior leadership, improve reporting and controls, and support operational decision-making across the business.

The Role

  • Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll become their right-hand person, taking ownership of the day-to-day finance function while helping drive improvements across reporting, controls, and commercial finance.

Financial Control

  • Produce and review monthly management accounts
  • Deliver robust financial reporting and KPI analysis
  • Manage cashflow forecasting and working capital
  • Lead balance sheet reconciliations and strengthen financial controls
  • Support year-end reporting and audit activities

Commercial Finance

  • Partner with Sales and Operations to provide meaningful financial insight
  • Deliver costing, margin, and variance analysis
  • Support budgeting and forecasting
  • Help operational teams make better, data-driven decisions

Process Improvement

  • Review and streamline finance processes
  • Improve reporting timelines and accuracy
  • Strengthen financial controls and governance
  • Support future systems improvements and continued development of reporting tools

Leadership

  • Mentor and support the Assistant Accountant
  • Help build additional capability within the finance team
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to create a more scalable finance function

This is a role for someone who enjoys rolling their sleeves up, identifying opportunities for improvement, and making a visible impact.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong Financial Controller
  • Manufacturing or product-based business experience highly desirable
  • Experience with costing, variance analysis, and cashflow forecasting
  • Strong process improvement mindset
  • Confident business partnering with operational stakeholders
  • Power BI and advanced Excel experience beneficial
  • Qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE)
