This is a broad, hands-on Finance Manager role for a £10m turnover logistics business going through steady growth. You'll take ownership of the full finance function, support the leadership team with day-to-day commercial insight, and manage one direct report. It would suit someone who enjoys being close to the operation, likes autonomy, and is comfortable rolling their sleeves up in a fast-moving SME environment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Managing the day-to-day finance function
  • Producing monthly management accounts
  • Cashflow forecasting and cash management
  • Overseeing purchase ledger, sales ledger and payroll
  • VAT returns and statutory reporting
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Liaising with external accountants and auditors
  • Improving processes and controls where needed
  • Managing and developing one member of staff
  • Working closely with the senior leadership team on operational and commercial matters

  • Previous experience in a Finance Manager or senior finance role within an SME
  • Comfortable managing the full finance function end-to-end
  • Strong management accounts and cashflow experience
  • Practical, hands-on approach
  • Confident working in a fast-paced operational business
  • Logistics, transport or distribution experience would help, but isn't essential
  • Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience backgrounds will all be considered
