Headley Professional Recruitment Ltd are recruiting a Senior Project Manager for a great construction client. The company is a construction main contractor who work on new build construction and civil engineering projects between £500k and £25 million in value. They have offices across the North of England and work on projects predominantly in Yorkshire and the Northeast. They’re recruiting a Senior Project Manager for their new build/construction division at their Teesside office. This is initially required to deliver a new build education project in Stockton which will be around £11 million in value. They’re seeking an experienced Project Manager who has worked in a similar position for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor on new build construction projects. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day running of the construction site reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager. Main responsibilities include: * Coordinating and clearly directing site staff and contractors. * Planning and programming all site activities and coordinating labour. * Working closely with the Contracts Manager to ensure work is progressing according to the programme with effective cost control. * Promptly dealing with any issues and planning corrective actions. * Proving regular updates, attending and leading progress meetings and subcontractor meetings. * Maintaining the Group’s high quality and safety standards, working closely with our in-house Health, Safety and Environmental Team. Essential requirements * Previous project management experience is essential * Previous experience working for new build main contractors * You must be able to plan all aspects of construction operations and produce construction programmes. * Comprehensive knowledge of technical construction processes and a strong commercial awareness is required. * Strong interpersonal, leadership and people management skills are essential. You must have leadership abilities and be professional at all times
