We are recruiting a new Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client in Hull. The client is an interior fit out contractor who specialise in shopfitting projects across the UK. They have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track fit out projects across the sector for some leading retail clients. Many of these clients are large food retailers such as Waitrose, Co-op, M&S, WHSmith, Sainsbury’s etc.
The role of Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor is to provide commercial support on projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers' expectations. The Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for the delivery of projects to meet financial targets. You must have good communication skills with the ability to nurture relationships with both the supply chain and customers. This position will be based in the company's Hull office, but remote, hybrid home working is available on a 3/2 or 4/1 working week split between home and office.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Manage the commercial accounts of numerous projects
- Assisting in accurately valuing, certifying, and issuing any relevant payment notices for the works of supply chain partners in accordance with their contractual arrangement.
- Ensuring that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.
- Completing cost value comparison reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on-site and the final projection.
- Working closely with the project team and senior commercial staff to ensure budgeted targets for the project are met.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a quantity surveyor working for main contractors or interior fit out contractors
- Previous experience in the retail sector, preferably in the food retail sector (desired)
- BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (desired)
