Overview
Due to growth, we have the opportunity to recruit a new Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager for our client in Normanton. The client is a small joinery manufacturer and interior fit out contractor. They work on projects in the commercial, retail and residential sectors.
Role
The role of Quantity Surveyor is to provide commercial support on projects to ensure they are procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers\\\β expectations. You will be responsible for the delivery of the projects to meet financial targets. This position will work closely with the Directors and will be solely responsible for the commercial side of the business. You will have the opportunity to make the role your own and develop it into a full commercial manager\\\βs position. You will need good communication skills with the ability to nurture relationships with both the supply chain and customers. This position will be based in the company\\\βs Normanton office, but some hybrid home working is available.
Responsibilities
- Manage the commercial accounts of numerous projects
- Accurately valuing, certifying, and issuing any relevant payment notices for the works of supply chain partners in accordance with their contractual arrangement
- Ensuring that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date
- Completing cost value comparison reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on-site and the final projection
- Working closely with the project team and Directors staff to ensure budgeted targets for the projects are met
- Effective commercial control of allocated projects including provision of timely and accurate documentation in accordance with the reporting timetable, in particular CVR\\\βs, forecasts, Commercial improvement documents, cash flow forecast, Commercial register etc
- Effective cash management including timely application / certification / invoicing / payment / receipts and careful administration of accounts
Requirements
- Candidate must have at least 5 years of previous quantity surveying experience
- Bachelor\\\βs degree in quantity surveying (preferred)
- An excellent communicator at all levels
- Excellent IT skills
