Headley have a vacancy for an experienced Production Engineer with an established engineering business near Leeds. The company manufacture a range of complex, technical products and require skilled and motivated engineers to add to their team. This is a machine shop job position and would be suited to apprentice trained CNC machinists with “off tools” experience.
Duties of the role include:
- Creating manufacturing programs using CAM software
- Component modelling where required
- Planning and scheduling of jobs, creating job routings and job cards
- Estimating process lead times
- Selection of appropriate tooling and liaising with suppliers
- Purchasing of materials and consumables as required
- Liaising with sub contract partners as required
Required experience:
- Apprentice trained machine shop engineer, or similar.
- Career experience working in machine shop environments
- Excellent understanding of machining processes, materials, tooling
- Technically sound, able to use CAD/CAM and machine programming software
- Confident in dealing with suppliers and external contacts
- Able to supervise the shop floor where required
