We are currently recruiting an Undergraduate Quantity Surveyor for our client in the Burnley, Padiham, Accrington area.

The client is an interior fit out contractor who specialize in shopfitting projects across the UK.

They have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track fit out projects across the sector for some leading retail clients such as Marks & Spencer, Primark, Ikea, etc…

The role of Undergraduate Quantity Surveyor would suit someone who is currently studying for their degree or about to start their degree who can work on a part-time basis whilst continuing degree.

The duties of Undergraduate Quantity Surveyor are to work on a day release/part-time basis, to provide commercial support on projects to ensure that it is procured, delivered within budget and to the highest quality whilst exceeding our customers' expectations.

You will report into a Senior QS and together will be responsible for the delivery of projects to meet financial targets.

You will have good communication skills with the ability to nurture relationships with both the supply chain and customers.

This position will be based in the company’s head office, but remote home working is occasionally available.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Assisting the management of commercial accounts of numerous projects
  • Assisting in accurately valuing, certifying, and issuing any relevant payment notices for the works of supply chain partners in accordance with their contractual arrangement.
  • Ensuring that external valuations are submitted in accordance with conditions of the main contract and that payments are received by the due date.
  • Assisting in the completion of cost value comparison reports, ensuring they accurately reflect the current position on-site and the final projection.
  • Working closely with the project team and senior commercial staff to ensure budgeted targets for the project are met.
