Our client is an interior fit out main contractor who specializes in retail and banking projects across the UK. We are recruiting M&E Quantity Surveyors / Estimators for the company’s head office in Farringdon, London. The company have an excellent reputation and history of producing quality, fast track fit out projects across the sector for some leading clients such as Barclays, Lloyds Bank, Tesco, Sainsbury’s etc… They’re recruiting for a commercially minded and self-motivated Quantity Surveyor / Estimator. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the company’s M&E division. You’ll be part of a dynamic team, providing expert commercial and contractual input from project inception through to final account. With strong development potential, this role offers the chance to grow alongside a high-profile account and contribute to the wider commercial strategy. Responsibilities: * Deliver the pre-construction remit for mechanical and electrical works, with responsibilities proportionate to experience. * Drive value from M&E cost plans and tender packages across the specialist supply base. * Develop detailed labour and material breakdowns. * Prepare and hand over M&E allocation plans to delivery teams. * Establish supported margin targets. * Undertake site visits and surveys, feeding findings into survey and design improvements. * Deliver a robust handover to commercial and delivery teams at client sign-off. * Prepare detailed cost plans and budget estimates, ensuring smooth handover to delivery teams Required Experience and Qualifications: * Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator role within the M&E, shopfitting or wider construction industry * Background in retail construction or interior fit-out (desirable) * Sound understanding of JCT contracts and working within schedule of rates/framework agreements * Experience producing detailed commercial reports, budgets, and cash flow forecasts * Ability to interpret drawings/specs for take-offs and cost planning * Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (particularly Excel) and commercial software * Strong awareness of construction methods and materials used in M&E projects * Proven ability to identify and manage commercial risks effectively * Degree, HND/HNC or BTEC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field (desirable) In return they offer: This company reward their staff with a competitive salary and package and give flexibility to allow staff to work from home 2 days a week.
