Overview
Headley have a live vacancy for an experienced Estimating Engineer with a well regarded engineering business in West Yorkshire.
The business is a sub-contract precision engineer machining a wide range of components for customers in diverse industry sectors. The quality and variety of work is excellent.
The role is a key part of the commercial team where you\’ll apply your technical knowledge and CN engineering experience to deliver accurate quotations to customers.
Responsibilities
- Fielding incoming customer enquiries to calculate competitive cost estimates and quotations
- Analysing customer drawings and technical information
- Applying engineering knowledge to understand material requirements, machine and labour costs and times.
- Liaising with internal departments and customers to ensure best solutions
- Obtaining any quoted from suppliers or 3rd parties as required
Qualifications / Requirements
- The role would require significant machine shop experience
- Apprentice trained engineer, or similar, and most probably an ex machinist
- Excellent technical skills, and knowledge of the workings of a machine shop
- Commercial outlook, able to deal effectively with customers
- Strong numerical skills and a close attention to detail.
