We’re looking for a skilled communications practitioner to join our team as an Account Director. If you have experience in corporate communications, press office and campaign delivery, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role
As an Account Director at Headland, you’ll take a lead role in managing client accounts and delivering high-impact work across a range of issues that matter. You’ll act as a day-to-day adviser to clients, contribute to strategy and execution, and help build and nurture a collaborative, high-performing team. From day one, you will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of client accounts, ensuring work is well-planned, delivered on time, and to a high standard
- Draft communications plans and materials with confidence and clarity
- Shape media strategies and build strong relationships with journalists and stakeholders
- Contribute to new business opportunities, including research and proposal development
- Collaborate with senior team members to ensure a joined-up and strategic approach
- Support junior colleagues by offering constructive feedback and mentoring
- Help manage team workloads to ensure they are balanced and sustainable
Who We’re Looking For
- A strong background in corporate communications and media engagement
- Experience building trusted relationships with clients and colleagues
- Confidence in writing and editing clear, engaging communications materials
- Awareness of the media and political landscape and how it influences reputation
- A collaborative, inclusive, and proactive approach to teamwork
- A commitment to high-quality delivery and supporting the development of others
- Interest in using digital and social platforms as part of modern communications
- A commercial mindset and understanding of client and agency operations
