The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.

Hours: Full time, 37.5h/week

Locations: Edinburgh, Cleckheaton, Hereford, Silsoe (Office based contracts but working on sites across UK)

Contract Type: Permanent

The Role

We are looking to recruit dedicated, results-driven individuals, available to start immediately. Ideally, you would have reasonable experience in British commercial archaeology, or relevant European commercial experience.

This is an intermediary position to help develop future Project Supervisors. You will buddy up with existing Supervisors and Project Officers to learn the job which includes undertaking a wide range of tasks for archaeological investigation, and field-based surveys and excavations, as well as research, analysis, and reporting.

As part of the fieldwork team, you will get involved in several large and exciting projects across central, southern, and eastern England. We have interesting projects including medieval and Roman urban excavations, IA/RB agricultural and industrial landscapes on linear schemes. Working away and travelling to new places is a normal part of this role; therefore, willingness to travel around the UK is essential.

You must have the following essential criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 months experience in commercial fieldwork
  • A general working knowledge of the archaeology (all periods and materials) of the British Isles.
  • Archaeology degree preferable
  • Strong willingness to develop
  • Strong aptitude for archaeological fieldwork
  • Good organisational & communication skills
  • Embrace inclusion and diversity
  • Willingness to develop your people skills
  • Substantial knowledge of MS Office & English language
  • Driving licence and willingness to drive company vehicles in the UK
  • Willingness to relocate to one of our regional offices
