Headlam, Europe’s largest floor covering distributor, has an exciting opportunity for an Operations Manager to join an inclusive and welcoming team. This full-time role comes with a competitive salary and excellent benefits package.

The Operations Manager is responsible for the end-to-end management of both the Warehouse and Transport teams. This is a hands-on leadership role, focusing on the execution of daily operations, ensuring a fast, efficient, and disruption-free service while maintaining high-quality customer interactions. The role must ensure fast, efficient and customer-centric operations while maintaining a safe and engaging work environment for colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Handle on-the-ground problem-solving to minimise operational disruptions.
  • Lead, coach, and develop managers, warehouse operatives, transport staff, and supervisors to provide consistently excellent service to customers, minimise errors and handle delivery issues proactively.
  • Ensure team engagement and motivation, fostering a high-performance culture. Ensure that colleagues can engage in company initiatives such as the engagement survey, development, roadshows and employee forum.
  • Champion a safety-first culture, ensuring compliance with health & safety and environmental regulations, legislation and policy.
  • Conduct performance reviews, manage attendance, manage disciplinary issues, and oversee training programs.
  • Monitor KPIs such as stock movement accuracy, delivery timelines, cost targets, and customer satisfaction for site.

You will have:

  • Minimum 7 years in warehouse and transport operations management.
  • Proven success in achieving operational KPIs and managing large teams in a logistics environment.
  • Transport Manager CPC (desirable, but not essential).
