Headlam are looking for a Health and Safety Business Partner to cover from the Midlands to the South West (Bristol and Swindon). This role will be predominantly field based. As Health and Safety Business Partner you will be a trusted partner and consultant. You will work on practical approaches to integrate safe behaviours into everyday activity and ensure the principles of Health and Safety are reflected in business decisions at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver and implement regional strategies and key corporate initiatives to drive continuous improvement in maintaining regulatory compliance programs, incident free operations/activities, and a safe and engaging work environment.
  • Lead the HS vision, including role modelling great personal and team leadership and taking an active role in ensuring the H&S Management System (Safety Culture) is embedded successfully.
  • Through coaching and advice, guide managers and their teams in the adoption of best practice safety leadership.
  • Provide an excellent cross functional partnership service to plan, facilitate and enable the achievement of H&S goals and priorities.
  • Provide H&S expertise and knowledge to facilitate business operations and assist in the development of regional emergency plans, standard operating procedures and risk assessment.
  • Identify key processes for assessment and recognise opportunities for continuous improvement by identifying and mitigating risks through co-operations with stakeholders.

Experience:

  • Experience in HS at mid to senior level with a proven track record in the delivery of HS business objectives.
  • Understanding and experience of ISO45001.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to train and motivate.
  • NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent experience.
