Our Client in the Automotive Industry (Retail Space) is seeking to employ an experienced Sales Manager to their team based in East London.
Requirements:
- Matric and a relevant tertiary qualification in Sales, Marketing, or Business Management.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the automotive retail industry, with at least 3 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Proven track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong financial acumen with experience managing departmental budgets.
- Knowledge of new and used vehicle sales operations.
- Experience in managing relationships with OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers).
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
- Strong customer service orientation and commitment to high CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) levels.
- Computer literacy, including CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in formulating and implementing ongoing vehicle sales policies.
- Maximise sales and profitability through customer satisfaction and retention to meet sales forecasts.
- Develop and manage the sales organization to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
- Ensure optimal stock levels of new and used vehicles on-site and on order.
- Control departmental expenses and ensure adherence to budget.
- Develop and implement sales growth strategies for new and used car sales.
- Motivate and lead the sales team to achieve company, retail, and wholesale sales targets.
- Set and monitor individual sales targets and performance metrics (e.g., fleet calls, daily contacts, demonstrations).
- Monitor all customer contacts, leads, and follow-ups to ensure conversion.
- Ensure cost control and profitability within the sales department.
- Maintain and enhance customer satisfaction levels.
- Manage the relationship between the dealership and OEM.
- Manage OEM scorecards and required monthly reports.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Manage assets and vehicle debtors to benchmark levels.
- Conduct daily and weekly client visits to build and maintain strong relationships.
