Enable scalable engineering workflows across our global AI and data platform.

Are you a Platform Engineer who enjoys building scalable internal platforms, improving developer experience and enabling engineering teams through automation and standardisation? Do you thrive in modern cloud-native environments where CI/CD, observability and self-service engineering are central to the platform strategy?

We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join the Global Platform Team at HeadFirst x Impellam Group. In this role, you will design, build and evolve the platform capabilities that enable teams to efficiently develop, deploy and operate workloads across our Headless Data Architecture (HDA) and Custom Apps Infrastructure (CA).

Your impact:

  • As a Platform Engineer, you play a key role in shaping the engineering foundations behind our global Workforce-as-a-Service (WaaS) platform.
  • You work at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, platform engineering and developer enablement ensuring teams can build and operate scalable workloads without needing deep expertise in the underlying infrastructure.
  • You contribute directly to our Headless Data Architecture (HDA), a modular and API-first platform built on Azure and Databricks, as well as the surrounding Custom Apps Infrastructure (CA) that powers integrations, applications and operational workflows across the organisation.
  • A core part of your role is creating reusable engineering standards and self-service platform capabilities.
  • You design golden paths for CI/CD, deployment workflows, observability and infrastructure provisioning, helping teams accelerate delivery while maintaining consistency, scalability and reliability.
  • You collaborate closely with Cloud Engineers, Data Engineers, AIOps Engineers and development teams across the organisation to simplify platform operations and continuously improve the developer experience.
  • At the same time, you contribute to building a scalable and future-proof engineering ecosystem embedding automation, observability and operational excellence into the platform from day one.

What you will do:

  • Define and implement golden paths for engineering workflows, including data pipelines, APIs and AI workloads.
  • Build and maintain self-service platform capabilities such as templates, automation and onboarding flows.
  • Standardise CI/CD workflows and engineering tooling across teams.
  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineers to abstract infrastructure complexity into reusable platform patterns.
  • Integrate observability capabilities including logging, metrics and distributed tracing using Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
  • Implement alerting and operational feedback loops to improve platform reliability.
  • Support engineering teams in adopting platform standards and best practices.
  • Improve developer experience by reducing friction in build, test and deployment processes.
  • Maintain and evolve platform tooling, deployment workflows and automation capabilities.
  • Contribute to incident resolution and continuous platform reliability improvements.
  • Collaborate with AIOps Engineers to improve AI evaluation and operational workflows on Databricks.

About the role:

You will be part of a growing Global Platform Team that is central to the transformation of HeadFirst x Impellam into a scalable, AI-powered and cloud-native organisation. Working with technologies such as Azure, Databricks, GitHub Actions, Grafana and OpenTelemetry, you help build the engineering platform that enables teams across Cloud, Data and AI to deliver solutions faster and more reliably. This role offers a strong combination of platform engineering, developer enablement and exposure to modern cloud-native engineering practices in a highly collaborative international environment.

What you bring:

  • You are a hands-on Platform Engineer with a strong technical foundation and a pragmatic mindset for building scalable internal engineering platforms.
  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps or cloud engineering roles.
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with Azure platform services such as App Services, Azure Container Apps, Functions and API Management.
  • Experience designing reusable deployment pipelines and engineering templates.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code practices using Terraform or CDK.
  • Strong understanding of GitOps workflows and deployment strategies.
  • Experience with observability tooling such as Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
  • Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Databricks deployment workflows and platform integrations.
  • Understanding of event-driven and API-based architectures.
  • Experience with secure software supply chain practices and dependency management.
  • Familiarity with SnapLogic or similar integration platforms is a plus.

What you offer as a professional:

  • Strong communication skills, able to translate platform capabilities into practical engineering solutions.
  • A developer-first mindset focused on usability, simplicity and self-service.
  • A structured and quality-driven approach to engineering and standardisation.
  • A collaborative mindset, working effectively across Cloud, Data and AI teams.
  • A pragmatic approach to balancing flexibility and platform governance.
  • A strong drive to continuously improve engineering workflows and developer experience.
  • Curiosity about modern platform engineering and AI-enabled development practices.
