Treasurer | Bridgend/hybrid | Salary up to £65,000 plus bens The Treasurer is responsible for leading the group\’s treasury function, ensuring robust governance and financial integrity across all entities within the group.
Supporting the Director of Finance to ensure that the organisation remains financially viable, well-governed, and compliant with the Welsh Government\’s Regulatory Standards for RSLs in Wales.
The Treasurer will ensure that the group\’s financial management supports strategic growth, investment, and sustainability in line with the organisation\’s social purpose. We are seeking an experienced candidate with treasury experience gained in a regulated sector to ensure robust Treasury oversight and reporting, to act as the Development Business Partner during a significant development cycle, ensure robust risk and compliance assurance, and to ensure that strategic priorities are delivered in line with the groups\’ standards and values.
Responsibilities: Act as senior point of contact and subject matter expert on Treasury strategies, banking relationships, financial reporting, and development appraisals.
Manage the day-to-day loan portfolio and banking arrangements.
Monitor and forecast covenant compliance, highlight any material trends in cash balances, and covenant compliance at an early stage to monitor risk and to ensure corrective actions can be taken.
Monitor and report on interest and finance charges and associated costs against budget.
Ensure all funder, partner, regulatory, and treasury statutory reporting requirements are met in a timely manner.
Ensure that accurate cash‐flows are produced and monitored to ensure liquidity and the most efficient use of resources.
Monitoring and reporting upon available security.
Skills, experience: Either a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or CIPFA) or a qualified Treasurer.
Strong technical accounting and financial control knowledge.
Proficiency with finance systems and advanced Excel.
Significant post‐qualification experience in a senior treasurer role, ideally within a housing association or regulated environment.
A strong knowledge of treasury management experience, including covenant compliance and cashflow forecasting.
Experience of working with Boards, Audit & Risk Committees, and external auditors.
