Overview

Our client, a successful established manufacturing business, is recruiting a Finance Manager on a permanent basis.

The role will involve hands-on management accounting, month-end close and reporting financial information to stakeholders across the business, delivering accurate monthly and quarterly reporting including monthly management accounts, budget and standard cost variance reporting, project costing, business KPIs and monthly VAT returns. Monthly revaluation of FX in line with FRS102.

Shared responsibility for balance sheet controls and reconciliations to ensure the financial integrity of the management accounts, including review of posted transactions, multi-currency, intercompany reconciliations, fixed asset schedule, and stock/WIP. Support the Finance Director to ensure the integrity of financial data/information held, identify areas for improvement, and contribute to the development and improvement of financial applications, databases and reports.

Proactive in understanding how the business operates and its key drivers, identifying and monitoring risks and opportunities with recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalise on opportunities. Support proposals for improvement and development projects including feasibility studies, financial models and business cases. Provide guidance, training and support to Finance team members to ensure accuracy and timely completion of tasks. Coordinate the annual Financial Audit, guiding the finance team and working with the Auditors to provide assurance of key processes and implement recommendations. Engage with key stakeholders within the business to develop strong working relationships and ensure provision of a first-class and professional financial service.

Responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) with a minimum of 3 years\’\’ post-qualified experience.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel for designing and creating tools and reports.
  • Ability to combine strong Finance and IT skills with a commercial mindset to add value to the business.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to engage with internal and external contacts at all levels.
  • Achievement-oriented with good planning, basic project management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
