Senior Server Engineer (both Windows & Linux) x2 needed for an initial

6-month engagement with our Financial Services client based in Edinburgh.

Experience within large-scale IT / Infrastructure Transformations within corporate environments, ideally Financial Services is required.

Demonstrable background in Separation / divestment programmes, Datacentre migration programmes or permission and vulnerability remediation within a large-scale server estate spanning Windows and Unix/Linux platforms is highly preferred.

The role requires candidates to engage via an

FCSA accredited Umbrella company.

The role is hybrid with an average of

2-days per week onsite in Edinburgh .

Key Skills & Experience required

Proven experience in supporting enterprise server infrastructure within corporate environments.

  • Experience in IT related migrations, divestitures or separations is preferred
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server administration and engineering.
  • Strong experience with Unix/Linux platforms, including Red Hat Enterprise Linux, AIX, Solaris, or similar enterprise operating systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with vulnerability remediation programs in large enterprise environments.
  • Experience working with vulnerability management platforms such as Tenable, Qualys, Rapid7, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of operating system security hardening and secure configuration practices.
  • Experience with patch management, server lifecycle management, and change management processes.
  • Hands-on scripting experience with Power Shell, Bash, Python, or equivalent automation technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
