Data Architect Contractor to help shape & evolve their enterprise data landscape and emerging AI capabilities.
Joining their Data Engineering team, the successful candidate is require to lead the design and governance of scalable, secure, and trusted data architectures that support reporting, analytics, machine learning, and AI-driven solutions across the organisation.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities will include
- Design and govern enterprise, logical, and physical data models.
- Define data architecture standards, modelling conventions, and best practices.
- Support the development of scalable data platforms for analytics, reporting, and AI.
- Drive data governance, metadata management, lineage, and data quality initiatives.
- Collaborate with Data Engineers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders to deliver trusted data solutions.
- Lead architecture reviews, design workshops, and technical decision-making.
- To be successful previous knowledge & experience in the following is required:
- Proven experience as a
- Data Architect within modern cloud data environments (ideally within other
- Scottish Public Sector organisations)
- Extensive expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling .
- Experience designing enterprise-scale data warehouses, lakehouse platforms, and analytical solutions .
- Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, lineage, and data quality .
- Experience with data cataloguing, governance tooling, and data contracts .
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills will be essential as always.
