Data Management Consultant (Data Migration & Readiness) needed urgently for our blue-chip client in the centre of Edinburgh. The right candidate must have extensive demonstrable experience providing Data Management, Data Migration and Data Readiness consultancy services & advice. Candidates must have a hands-on Data related background combined with strong Data Management & Migration / Transformation programme delivery experience and extensive ERP & Data Governance knowledge. The role is Inside IR35 and requires candidates to engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella company. Candidates must work 3-days per week onsite in the centre of Edinburgh, ideally Tuesday - Thursday.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering Data Readiness strategies
  • Leading Data Cleansing activities
  • Advising on and troubleshooting data management & migration related activities across business stakeholders & third-party suppliers
  • Translating business requirements & process design decisions into clear data structures, migration rules and validation requirements

This role acts as the bridge between the Business, Data & Analytics, and Technology, ensuring data is fit-for-purpose, aligned with the organisations global standards and is ready for deployment without disrupting operational continuity. You will be a point of accountability for all data matters within the programme scope, proactively managing risks, dependencies, and readiness to enable a successful transformation.

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrable Data Management, Data Migration & Data Cleansing knowledge & Experience with a track record of working at a Senior Consultant level within Data Transformation Programmes within complex corporate environments.
  • Business Requirement Translation with the ability to interpret Data related process design decisions and translate them into clear data structures, migration rules, and validation requirements, in liaison with global internal & external teams.
  • Strong understanding of master and transactional data, ERP transformations (ideally including SAP), reconciliation processes, and governance frameworks.
  • Programme & Risk Management experience including managing data workstreams in complex transformation programmes, with strong planning, tracking, and escalation capabilities.
  • Stakeholder Management & Influencing skills with the ability to align business process owners, data domain specialists, global teams, and external partners around data decisions, priorities, and trade-offs.
  • Excellent communications skills and execution & delivery Focus - a structured, detail-oriented approach, and the ability to operate effectively under tight timelines and ambiguity.
