CICS Mainframe Engineer

CICS Mainframe Engineer needed for our Banking Client in Glasgow. The role requires a strong CICS Mainframe Engineer with extensive demonstrable experience in CICS to come on board for an initial 12-month role.

Candidates must engage via an FCSA accredited Umbrella Company and the role can be worked fully remotely, though there may be a requirement for very occasional travel to Glasgow.

The successful candidate will be working on upgrading both test and live CICS environments, driving enhancements to the security & resilience of those environments; identifying, quantifying and communicating technical risks; exploring and testing efficiencies within the CICS setup and working with stakeholders to fix any issues and incidents that arise.

Key Skills:

1. Demonstrable experience in CICS including a sound understanding of the principles of resilience, operability and security relating to CICS.
2. Previous experience working on, planning, preparing and delivering CICS upgrades.
3. Good understanding of IT infrastructure: hardware, networking, data, and middleware.
4. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-changing environment.
5. Previous Banking / Financial Services environment experience.
6. Previous MQ administration would be an advantage, but isn’t essential.
