We’re the Signet Collection — a lovingly curated family of hotels that prioritise character over conformity, warmth over formality, and soulful hospitality over cookie‑cutter corporate vibes. If you’ve visited any of our properties, you’ll know: we love beautiful spaces, brilliant people, and stories worth sharing over a very good glass of something crisp.
Now, we’re on the hunt for an Office and HR Administrator — someone who has excellent administration and IT skills. Reporting to the HR Director, you will be part of the people function, but you will support the wider teams across the office, especially finance and our Managing Partner. You'll also help run our busy central support office, from taking notes, to preparing presentations and making sure we have all the provisions we need to run that space successfully.
You will need the capability to administer the employee life cycle for all our hotels (340 team members and growing), from recruitment and on-boarding to leavers and contract changes, using our digital platforms (harri, Fourth and All Gravy). You will need to be comfortable managing a busy inbox, and happy doing administration full-time. Ideally you will have some experience in HR and hospitality, but this is not a requirement, as we recruit based on capability rather than just on qualifications!
Where is this role? We currently have 4 properties (with more coming!) and a central office near Newbury (Newbury RG20 8NJ). This role is based out of our central office, 5 days a week, so the role would suit someone local to the Newbury area. There may be occasional travel required where support is needed at the hotels, but you will be the mainstay of our support office. P.s. There is free parking available on site at the office!
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Acting as a source of knowledge for all people related matters at Signet!
- Helping with recruitment and promoting hard to fill roles across the business.
- Sending out job offers and onboarding new starters, making sure we set people up for success.
- Promoting and using our Comms and Learning platform All Gravy, making sure we recognise our people regularly and passionately.
- Managing team contract changes, including administering the annual pay review, pay changes and pension coordination as well as other bits through the team member lifecycle.
- Report and help manage team holiday throughout the year.
- Help to coordinate hotel and central training - including mapping in inductions for new starts.
- Help to celebrate team birthdays and special occasions in a meaningful way.
- Support with employee relations queries and cases as and when they come about.
- Report on and help to manage completion of team reviews- so we know we are always in touch with our teams.
- Administer our Long Service and Team Awards- making sure we celebrate our stars consistently, in the Signet way.
- Support with the administration of team engagement surveys- as we look to grow from our team's feedback.
- Manage and process leavers- making sure we get things right all the time and send people off in the right way.
You’ll Love This Role If…
- You have a passion for admin and people.
- You love to be a help and support multiple teams.
- You are organised beyond belief, and can get others to do the same.
- You love to work around people, in a fun office environment.
- You love hospitality, even if you haven't worked in it before.
What You Bring to Our Table:
- You'll be tech savvy, with a love for administration and process...and of course people!
- Experience in an admin role using multiple digital platforms, coordinating people along the way.
- Confidence in organising others, and managing up, down and side to side!
- A coaching mindset: happy to show our teams the process as well as hold them to it.
- A collaborative spirit — you play well with others.
- Organisation skills sharper than a freshly polished steak knife.
- Agile and adaptable- we are growing and we move quickly as a business - so you will be happy working at pace and will come with us on our journey as a growing hospitality business!
What You’ll Get from Us:
- An excellent starting salary.
- Discounted rates across our restaurants and hotels for you, family and friends to enjoy.
- Wagestream - access up to 40% of your pay before pay date, and save directly from your salary.
- Your Wellbeing Hub - powered by Hospitality Action, from a 24/7 employee assistance programme, to gym classes, to nutritious recipes, to clinical counselling, we want you to feel cared for at each step.
- 28 days’ holiday (including Bank Holidays) + birthday off.
- Team recognition programme to celebrate your achievements.
- Referral bonus scheme for recommending top talent - earn up to £1000.
- Long Service Awards - dinners for two with all the trimmings, complimentary room stays with breakfast and dinner, theatre tickets to see The Lion King, and so much more.
