About us
About EMAT
EMAT is an exciting, innovative and growing organisation where we strive to do things differently, aligned with our core values and purpose: that every child deserves to be the best they can be.
Our Trust was incorporated in July 2012 to establish, maintain, manage and develop academies and free schools as world-class centres of excellence. We are a collaborative partnership that includes an all-through school in Northampton, a secondary school in Oundle, and primary schools across Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Milton Keynes.
By working for our Trust, you will be able to take advantage of a wealth of professional development and support opportunities, as well as a range of employee benefits.
Job Description
Your career EMATersAt East Midlands Academy Trust (EMAT), we believe great teaching and leadership make a difference. We are keen to connect with passionate Computer Science, Business Studies and Economics Teachers, as well as current or aspiring subject leaders who want to inspire others, drive improvement and help shape the future of these subjects across our Trust.
Whether you are an established subject leader looking for your next challenge or an experienced teacher ready to take the next step into leadership, this is an opportunity to explore how you could contribute to curriculum development across EMAT. This may include developing an engaging Computer Science curriculum at KS3 and strengthening teaching, learning and outcomes in Computer Science, Business Studies and Economics at KS4 and KS5, while sharing best practice across our schools.
With opportunities to contribute to Trust-wide curriculum development and explore leadership responsibilities, including potential Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) positions, we want to hear from people who are ambitious for themselves, their colleagues and the pupils they support.
Job Description
Who are we looking for?
We are interested in hearing from people who:
- Have a passion for Computer Science, Business Studies and/or Economics, with a clear vision for excellent teaching and learning.
- Can deliver engaging and ambitious curricula that build pupils' knowledge, skills, confidence and aspirations, including Computer Science at KS3 and relevant subjects at KS4 and KS5.
- Can inspire curiosity, encourage problem-solving and develop pupils' understanding of digital technologies, business and economics.
- Are committed to developing colleagues, sharing effective practice and supporting professional growth.
- Want to contribute to Trust-wide curriculum development, helping shape curriculum approaches, resources and teaching practice across our academies.
- Can identify opportunities for improvement and help raise standards and pupil outcomes.
- Are keen to collaborate across schools and contribute to wider Trust priorities.
- Are ambitious for their own development and interested in exploring future leadership opportunities, including roles with TLR responsibilities.
You may already be a subject leader looking for your next challenge, or an experienced Computer Science, Business Studies or Economics Teacher ready to take the next step. We are particularly interested in hearing from people who want to make an impact beyond their own classroom and contribute to the development of these subjects across EMAT.
Develop your career with EMAT
We are committed to supporting our colleagues to develop their expertise and progress in their careers. Opportunities across our Trust can offer access to professional development, collaboration with colleagues across different academies and the chance to influence teaching, learning and curriculum development on a wider scale.
For colleagues looking to progress into leadership, there may be opportunities to take on additional responsibilities, contribute to Trust-wide priorities and explore positions with a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR).
Our employee benefits include continuous professional development, leadership development opportunities, the Teachers' Pension Scheme, a confidential 24-hour Employee Assistance Programme, health and wellbeing benefits, an employee lifestyle savings platform and generous family leave.
Let's start a conversation
You do not need to be looking for a new role right now. If you are passionate about Computer Science, Business Studies or Economics, interested in curriculum development and keen to explore what a future with EMAT could look like, we would welcome an informal conversation.
Your next opportunity could be about more than leading a subject. It could be about helping shape Computer Science, Business Studies and Economics education across EMAT.
To register your interest, contact hannah.fajemiyo@central.emat.uk, and we will arrange a tour at one of our schools where you can meet with the team.
Safeguarding and equal opportunities
EMAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Any appointment will be subject to appropriate pre-employment checks, including references and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, in line with our safer recruitment procedures.
We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
Benefits
