Are you a GP looking for a new adventure? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP on the beautiful Island of Orkney, based off the Scottish Coast. With breathtaking views, beautiful beaches, excellent schools and leisure facilities it’s no surprise that Orkney has frequently been voted the best place to live in Scotland!

The Practice are a friendly and forward-thinking team. They offer a unique, varied job description with the opportunity to work within their team of 4 GP practices with a total list size of around 5500. Their main surgery is based within the recently built Balfour Hospital in Kirkwall, Orkney. Two smaller branch surgeries are located on the islands of Shapinsay and North Ronaldsay which involves an enjoyable short ferry or plane commute from Kirkwall. These surgeries provide an opportunity to practice in a rural Primary Care setting with the support from a resident ANP. Their other Medical Practice is a 20 minute drive from Kirkwall with a supportive and experienced team on site.

They are a GP training practice who value delivering high quality, patient-centred care. They have a strong supportive team ethos with regular team meetings and daily team coffee breaks. Protected weekly administrative time. They encourage GPs to develop areas of interest and promote ongoing training and professional development. The current team comprises of 4 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, 1 GP retainer, 1 ANP, 3 PNs, 1 HCA and an experienced and friendly administrative team. They also have the support of the wider PCIP team.

They are looking for a salaried GP to provide 6-8 sessions per week. Salary is in line with the BMA pay scale and is dependent on experience.
