3 Month Block Booking – Scrub RN/ODP – East of Scotland

I have a truly outstanding opportunity for aScrub Registered Nurse (RN)/Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) for a short-term contract based in the East of Scotland. It is initially for three months but may be extended.

Position Overview

I have been asked to provide scrub cover for one of my established clients while one of their own staff is on secondment. The shifts are Monday to Friday, no weekends. However, you may be required to cover the occasional early or late shift during the week. 37 hours in total per week. If you have holidays booked, don\’t worry, we can potentially work around them.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert scrub assistance during a variety of surgical procedures. I am looking for a good all-rounder who can scrub for a variety of specialities.
  • Ensure a sterile environment is maintained throughout the surgical process.
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons and other team members to support patient care.
  • Monitor patient conditions pre, during, and post-surgery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation as required.
  • Assist with training and orienting new staff members as needed.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with valid UK NMC registration or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) certification.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Proven experience in a Scrub role, with a minimum of two years\’ post-grad experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing surgical schedules and demands.
