The company are in the process of adding to their Marketing team by bringing in an experienced and knowledgeable Marketplace Optimisation Specialist, this is an additional position and requires an individual who has drive and ambition to succeed in a fast paced role.

Marketplace Optimisation Specialist Purpose

The main purpose of the Marketplace Optimisation Specialist is to own, optimise, and continuously improve the company’s online presence and to drive visibility, and conversion across all product ranges. The role is responsible not only for advertising effectiveness, but assisting in the creation, optimisation, and evolution of online content on these marketplaces. This creation includes written, visual, and enhanced brand content that improves discoverability, conversion, and brand perception. While agency partners may support execution and strategy, the Marketplace Optimisation Specialist brings critical expertise, creativity, and ownership in-house to maximise performance, insight, and speed of decision-making. The role will actively use AI tools to accelerate content creation, optimisation, and analysis.

Marketplace Optimisation Specialist Objectives:

  • Own and continuously optimise all online platforms to drive sales and conversion
  • Through ongoing audit and analysis, maintain all online product listings to a consistently high standard across titles, bullets, imagery, A+ content, video, and Brand Stores
  • Create and evolve online content, including copy, imagery, and enhanced content, to improve discoverability, engagement, and conversion
  • Act as the internal online expert, working closely, initially, with appointed Amazon agencies to brief, challenge, and optimise advertising strategy and spend
  • Monitor and analyse online advertising performance (Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display), making data-led recommendations to improve ROAS and efficiency
  • Deploy keyword research, SEO techniques, and search term analysis to improve organic rankings and sales velocity
  • Use AI tools to support content creation, keyword research, listing optimisation, competitive analysis, and performance reporting
  • Identify opportunities to improve performance through pricing, promotions, reviews, content enhancements, and merchandising tactics
  • Track and report on KPIs including sales, conversion rate, share of voice, organic rank, content performance, and advertising efficiency
  • Audit competitor activity on marketplace accounts especially Amazon and identify opportunities to strengthen competitiveness through both content and media
  • Ensure online activity is aligned with broader brand, content, and campaign strategies across the business
  • Stay up to date with all platform developments, tools, and best practices, ensuring the business remains competitive
  • Support the evaluation and development of additional marketplaces and emerging commerce platforms where relevant

  • Online sales growth and contribution to overall revenue, conversion rate and Buy Box performance
  • Organic search ranking and keyword visibility
  • Advertising ROAS and efficiency
  • Listing quality, completeness, and content effectiveness
  • Effectiveness of promotions, campaigns, and content updates
  • Timely and accurate reporting to Marketing and Commercial teams

Candidate

  • Proven experience managing online optimising on home websites as well as marketplaces such as Amazon Vendor / Seller Central accounts
  • Demonstrable success in improving performance through a combination of content optimisation, SEO, and advertising strategy
  • Strong understanding of advertising products and performance metrics
  • Experience creating or directing the creation of content, including copy, imagery, and enhanced brand content
  • Comfortable using AI tools to support content creation, optimisation, and analysis (a willingness to learn if necessary)
  • Experience working with external agencies and confidence to challenge and guide strategy
  • Analytical mindset combined with creative judgement, strong attention to detail and commercial awareness
  • Confident communicator able to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, Creative, and external partners
  • Proactive and curious, with a desire to continually improve performance and experiment with new tools and approaches
  • Experience within FMCG, consumer goods, or fast-moving retail categories preferred
  • Knowledge of TikTok Shop, D2C platforms, or emerging marketplaces
