The Global Fund is the largest multilateral provider of grants for health. Created in 2002, the Global Fund is a worldwide partnership to defeat HIV, TB and malaria and ensure a healthier, safer, more equitable future for all. We raise and invest up to US$5 billion a year to fight the deadliest infectious diseases, challenge the injustice that fuels them and strengthen health systems in more than 100 countries. We unite world leaders, communities, civil society, health workers and the private sector to find out what works and take it to scale so the world makes more progress, more rapidly. Now in its twenty-third year, the Global Fund partnership has saved more than 70 million lives, reduced deaths and new infections, and strengthened resilience to future health threats. At a pivotal moment for global health, the Global Fund is focused on maximizing its impact, advancing equity and sustainability, and shaping the next strategic phase toward 2030.
The Global Fund now intends to appoint a Head of Grant Management. Reporting to the Executive Director and serving as a member of the Management Executive Committee, this critical executive leadership role is responsible for leading the organization's largest operational division and overseeing the delivery of a grant portfolio of approximately US$4-5 billion annually across around 100 countries. As the Global Fund evolves its country delivery model to respond to an increasingly complex geopolitical and funding environment, this is a unique opportunity to shape the next phase of grant delivery, strengthening country partnerships while maximizing sustainable health impact at scale.
The role will require an accomplished executive with the strategic vision and operational leadership to navigate complexity and deliver transformation across one of the world's largest global health financing portfolios. They will combine exceptional judgment with the ability to translate strategy into execution, balancing operational rigor and fiduciary oversight with innovation and continuous improvement. They will be an outstanding relationship builder and diplomat, able to work effectively with governments, donors, multilateral organizations, civil society and other partners, while empowering diverse, high-performing teams to deliver measurable results.
