Location: Forest Row

Pay & Benefits

  • £15.00 per hour (weekdays)
  • £15.50 per hour (weekends)
  • Time and a half on Bank Holidays
  • 45p per mile mileage allowance (work‑related travel)

Hours & Scheduling

  • 9–18 hours per week initially, with the potential to increase
  • Shifts usually between 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (may vary)
  • Includes weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, and school holidays
  • Shifts agreed in advance on a rota basis, with flexibility required to meet the client’s needs

Head First is recruiting part‑time female Support Workers to provide 1:1 personalised support to a young woman in her early 40s with an acquired brain injury, based in the Forest Row area. This is a long‑term role with scope to increase hours over time as the support package develops.

About Our Client

Our client lives with her parents and is friendly, thoughtful, and warm, with a great sense of humour. She is registered blind and experiences high levels of anxiety, so benefits from calm, patient, and consistent support.

She Enjoys

You will work closely with a Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT), following a structured rehabilitation plan focused on confidence‑building and independence.

The Role You Will Support With

  • Day to day living and food preparation
  • Using iPhones and Apple technology (apps, accessibility features)
  • Organising appointments and routines
  • Community access and social activities (driving required)
  • Emotional reassurance and anxiety management
  • Encouraging independence at the client’s pace

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Previous experience in a support/care role
  • Full UK driving licence, access to own car, and business‑use insurance
  • A calm, compassionate, and patient approach
  • Ability to support someone with high levels of anxiety
  • Good communication skills and a sense of humour
  • Flexibility to work a varied, pre‑agreed shift pattern

Desirable

  • Experience supporting individuals with acquired brain injury
  • Experience Supporting Individuals Who Are Registered Blind
  • Experience supporting individuals with epilepsy
  • Confidence using iPhone and Apple technology
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for social and leisure activities

Additional Information

  • Enhanced DBS required (paid for by the employer if needed)
  • Occupational Requirement: Female applicants only, permitted under Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010, due to the personal nature of care
