Job Details
- Location: Burgess Hill, West Sussex
- Vacancy Type: Permanent contract, 2-3 x 11 hour shifts each week, including bank holidays, between 10:30 am and 9:30 pm, although flexibility with start and finish times is required due to the needs of the client. Overtime offered as and when to cover holiday and other team absences.
- Salary: £14.70 per hour weekdays, £15.23 per hour weekends, NLW/NMW per hour for sleep‑in nights. Time and a half on bank holidays.
On behalf of our client, Head First is recruiting for a part‑time team support worker to provide support to a 37‑year‑old man with an acquired brain injury who lives in his own home in the Burgess Hill area. The support worker will work alongside our client, his family and healthcare professionals as part of a support team providing a rehabilitation package.
Responsibilities
- Support is needed to enable our client to plan and organise social activities, practical support such as cooking and shopping, and to deal with correspondence and personal appointments.
- The client has a full programme of activities and likes to keep busy, which includes voluntary work, active sporting and PT sessions as well as various leisure activities.
- Due to his brain injury, he requires support with daily living, including arranging and accessing appointments, partaking in social activities and outings, menu planning along with preparation and generally building skills to live as independently as possible in his own home.
- Our client can struggle with concentration and initiation, therefore it’s important to maximise independence, provide a structured approach and to engage in meaningful activities, ensuring the client’s schedule is maintained.
Requirements
- Must be licensed to drive a manual car.
- Up to date DBS at enhanced level required – the employer will pay if you need to apply for one.
