This position provides an opportunity for you if you’re keen to experience working with a great team of diversely skilled teachers in our kaupapa Maori context centre on the northern outskirts of Timaru. Your position is to 'cover' for different kaiako with possible jury duty in February, planned annual leave from March and maternity leave from April. The hours and days may be negotiable somewhat.

We are flexible and professional, operating short days for tamariki (8.30am-2.30pm). Our curriculum programme is informed by research we are currently developing with the University of Canterbury, Te Ao Maori and our weekly offsite beach programme, and increasingly whanau engagement.

Interest in strengthening your competency in te reo, and tikanga Maori and working from a strength-based model within a robust teaching team with great communication is essential. Our roll is nearly full and we support part-time employment and whanau work-life balance. This role may lead to permanent.
