We are seeking a Senior Transportation Planner/Project Manager to help expand our services in the United Kingdom (UK). The position reports to the Head of Transport in the UK and leads delivery of transportation planning projects across multiple modes in the UK, while supporting similar projects in the US, Canada, and Middle East.
Responsibilities:
- Project management of transportation planning projects in the UK and supporting similar projects in the Middle East, USA, and Canada.
- Providing technical leadership.
- Managing other staff with development of deliverables, including analyses and reports.
- Leading and developing teams and individuals.
- Responsible for the financial performance, program and technical standards of projects.
- Preparing project and fee proposals.
- Working directly with clients to support their transport needs and establish relationships.
- Preparing and reviewing project deliverables, including reports and presentations, ensuring compliance with HDR project quality standards.
- Working collaboratively with other teams in HDR, including those based in the UK, Middle East and North America.
- Assisting in the development and growth of the HDR UK Transportation business.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Urban Design or related subject.
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience within transportation planning and urban design.
- Strong background in active travel, public transport, scheme development, strategies, studies and appraisals and development control, including preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
- Excellent analytical, technical and communication skills.
- Experience in statutory consultation and planning appeals is a plus.
