As an Electrical Power Engineer, you will contribute to transforming power infrastructure and have opportunities to grow and innovate. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to support the development of detailed designs and specifications for a diverse range of projects. You will work under the guidance of Associate and Senior engineers to gain hands-on experience across the project lifecycle. Responsibilities
- Support the design and engineering of high-voltage substation and power delivery projects from concept through to detailed design.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation including reports, specifications, drawings, and calculations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, structural, and protection engineers to integrate solutions.
- Participate in design reviews, quality checks, and client meetings with the support of senior staff.
- Help interpret and apply relevant design codes, standards, and client specifications (e.g. IEC, IEEE, ANSI).
- Engage in internal learning opportunities to develop technical expertise and progress toward chartership.
- Promote safe design practices and support compliance with CDM regulations and ISO quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required); MEng or MSc is essential.
- Working toward or interest in obtaining Chartered status.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical design, ideally in high-voltage substations or switchyard projects.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems design, including one-line diagrams, cable sizing, earthing, and protection schemes.
- Familiarity with industry standards (IEC, IEEE, ANSI) and design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, DigSILENT or similar) is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with a proactive and positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
