As a Commissioning Manager, you will be part of an organization that is 100-percent employee owned, supporting and creating many opportunities for your career growth and success.
Primary Responsibilities
The primary objective of our Commissioning Managers is to ensure that the processes involved in commissioning engineering services systems are diligently and accurately planned, managed, executed, and recorded.
- Deliver commitments to clients on time, meeting required levels of detail and quality.
- Utilize the company’s management systems to achieve the primary objective.
- Provide consultative advice on commissioning and performance requirements, strategies, programs, and scopes of work.
- Proactively progress commissioning activities throughout the project cycle in collaboration with the General Contractor and Vendors.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Engaging with team members to improve systems and procedures.
- Acting as a technical champion in specific areas of interest.
- Promoting the company through marketing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety compliance at all times.
- Work diligently, efficiently, and professionally.
- Maintain technical compliance and high-quality deliverables.
- Collaborate with clients and contractors to develop commissioning strategies.
- Implement company management systems to ensure proper commissioning of building services.
- Monitor project finances and control expenditures.
- Attend meetings and prepare technical reports.
- Develop project-specific documents, procedures, and test scripts.
- Review drawings, manuals, and technical submittals.
- Report scope changes and evaluate project progress and issues.
General Duties
- Arrange test instrumentation for testing.
- Assist in tender development.
- Complete timesheets accurately.
- Support team members proactively.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Degree in engineering or equivalent; significant project management experience; professional memberships advantageous.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project or commissioning management within building services.
- Strong communication, client focus, leadership qualities, and resilience.
- Self-motivated, dynamic, professional, and adaptable.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and go the extra mile for clients.
- Team player with minimal supervision, effective relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, attention to detail.
- Commitment to personal development and embracing change.
- Ability to motivate others and make effective decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to travel to site locations.
- Experience as a licensed PE or field technician with strong MEP knowledge.
- Proficient in computer skills, including MS Office and Project.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of design documentation, construction practices, and project management tools.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
