HDR have a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams throughout the entire span of a project, from the initial concept development, through drawings/specifications, to report preparation and equipment sizing and selection, and finally meaningful engagement during the construction contract.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will have the opportunity to work with engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, specifications and estimates for Data Centre/Mission Critical facilities. Whilst you will be a competent & experienced designer, we are looking for a self-starter that can manage and develop resources to meet project demands whilst maintaining the highest level of technical excellence and regulatory compliance and work as part of the wider multi-disciplinary engineering team.
In the role of Senior Electrical Engineer we'll count on you to:
- Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design.
- Produce detailed design and installation design of complete electrical systems for Data Centres/Mission Critical projects.
- Ensure all design projects and reports within the group are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
- Set objectives, monitor performance, coach and develop staff to optimise their potential.
- Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects.
- Ensure Quality Management System ISO 9001 and 14001 are adhered to.
Qualifications
- BEng, MSc or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services or relevant subject.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical design.
- Experience in Electrical design for Data Centre is essential.
- Experience, especially in designing and managing projects.
- Managing Electrical Design throughout all design stages.
- Wide experience of critical electrical systems, MV and LV power systems, standby generation, UPS, earthing, fire alarm systems.
- Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and 3D co-ordination.
- Chartered Electrical Engineer (desirable).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
- Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
