As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Associate or Associate Director for the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment market to join our London practice. As an Associate/Associate Director, you will be part of an organization that is 100% employee-owned, supporting many opportunities for your career advancement and success.

Primary Objective

As an MEP Associate/Associate Director, you will foster client relationships, support annual planning, lead pursuits, and oversee project teams. These projects span various types within the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment Market Sector. Leading project teams in marketing and securing project wins is a key focus. A passion for client service and leveraging HDR’s integrated service offerings to provide exceptional value is critical.

Responsibilities

Business development responsibilities include:

• Developing and nurturing strong relationships with clients from pre-positioning through project completion and beyond.
• Maintaining an active presence in the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment market sector to drive growth and sales.
• Identifying new opportunities and leading strategies for client and pursuit planning.
• Collaborating with leadership in strategic planning and market sector initiatives.

Project responsibilities include:

• Supporting contract negotiations and awards.
• Serving as Project Director or Principal as appropriate.
• Leading concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams.
• Providing client oversight during project execution, ensuring technical, financial, and schedule performance.
• Maintaining client relations post-project.
• Partnering with production managers to strengthen project teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor\’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or relevant field.
• At least 8 years of experience in a design consultancy within the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment sector.
• Proven business development and relationship-building skills in the sector.
• Experience managing diverse teams and client relationships.
• Active involvement in industry associations and market visibility.
• Strong communication skills and a commitment to HDR values and culture.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor\’s degree in a related field.
• At least 7 years of related experience.
• Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.
