As we continue to grow, we are looking for an Associate or Associate Director for the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment market to join our London practice. As an Associate/Associate Director, you will be part of an organization that is 100% employee-owned, supporting many opportunities for your career advancement and success.
Primary Objective
As an MEP Associate/Associate Director, you will foster client relationships, support annual planning, lead pursuits, and oversee project teams. These projects span various types within the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment Market Sector. Leading project teams in marketing and securing project wins is a key focus. A passion for client service and leveraging HDR’s integrated service offerings to provide exceptional value is critical.
Responsibilities
Business development responsibilities include:
- Developing and nurturing strong relationships with clients from pre-positioning through project completion and beyond.
- Maintaining an active presence in the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment market sector to drive growth and sales.
- Identifying new opportunities and leading strategies for client and pursuit planning.
- Collaborating with leadership in strategic planning and market sector initiatives.
Project responsibilities include:
- Supporting contract negotiations and awards.
- Serving as Project Director or Principal as appropriate.
- Leading concurrent projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Providing client oversight during project execution, ensuring technical, financial, and schedule performance.
- Maintaining client relations post-project.
- Partnering with production managers to strengthen project teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or relevant field.
- At least 8 years of experience in a design consultancy within the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment sector.
- Proven business development and relationship-building skills in the sector.
- Experience managing diverse teams and client relationships.
- Active involvement in industry associations and market visibility.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to HDR values and culture.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor\’s degree in a related field.
- At least 7 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years project management experience.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Commitment to HDR’s employee-owned culture.
