The role

Analytical support for the Political and Credit Risk account in accordance with the underwriting guidelines and business plan through:

  • Analysis of a high volume of new business, focused on credit enquiries, providing analytical recommendations to underwriting colleagues in line with the team risk appetite, based on comprehensive submissions generated by underwriting colleagues.
  • Establish and maintain annual credit assessments, limits and internal ratings for regularly reviewed obligors which typically do not have external credit ratings
  • Assist and prepare reports for ongoing portfolio analysis, including maintenance and review of trigger event metrics for all exposure and aggregations, across geographies, industries, obligors, risk types and client groups.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc reporting to support the team
  • Complete project work as required to support portfolio analysis, account development, credit policy and credit appetite

Key accountabilities

  • Provide robust review of and recommendation on individual new enquiries and obligors
  • Document analysis and recommendation on individual credit reviews and complete the associated tools for data capture
  • Complete specific project work as required
  • Monitor, Analyse and generate Management Information for the existing and growing account portfolio
  • Support senior colleagues in data analysis to assess the performance of the account and contribute to strategic discussions

Client/Broker Relations

  • Attend third party information provider (such as IHS, S&P, Factiva) calls and meetings
  • Attend client calls and meetings in relation to industry or geography updates where required.

Process Improvement

  • Identify and enhance the quality and value of processes for your area of work

Project Management

  • Contribute to end to end process of project management for functional projects and contribute to any Branch wide projects

Risk and Controls

  • Maintain process controls to ensure the quality of the output for your area/team within the function.
  • Ensure documentation of the processes and output is accurate, up-to-date and accessible

Reporting

  • Design, deliver, develop and analyse reports, identify and recommend solutions to reporting issues in line with group/branch requirements

Skills & experience

  • A minimum of 2 years in credit analysis
  • Degree
  • Working to achieve CFA qualification or willingness to complete
  • Strong analytical and data presentation skills
  • Reliable
  • Superior service approach
  • Organised and reliable
