This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a team of Strategic Relationship Managers (SRMs), providing comprehensive support in managing broker relationships that span all lines of business across the UK and Ireland branch. This position will allow you to gain experience in both strategic and trading responsibilities, enabling you to contribute to high-level business planning as well as leading on some day-to-day trading activities.

Working alongside the Strategic Relationship Managers at broker meetings, you will gain valuable insights into client engagement and business development and build a network within the industry while also capturing and disseminating key meeting outcomes. You will play a pivotal role for the team in championing the pipeline, preparing briefing materials for executive meetings, and ensuring the smooth execution of large case management processes.

You will be instrumental in supporting the team with data-driven insights for decision-making and key meetings whilst also having the opportunity to develop key Business Development skills through qualifying New Business opportunities, facility pipeline management and prospecting. The role also involves fostering strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external broker partners, acting as a business partner for selected classes of business, and ensuring that branch facilities and reporting processes are consistently maintained and communicated to the wider business.

This is an ideal position for someone looking to develop a broad skill set in both strategic relationship management and business development operations within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. This is a 12 month FTC opportunity.

Key accountabilities:

  • Support in creation of sales materials for client pitches, broker presentations and tender responses.
  • Build and nurture relationships with identified peers at brokers, maintaining an engagement plan.
  • Join Strategic Relationship Managers at broker meetings and capture meeting notes.
  • Qualify and allocate New Business opportunities received by the Strategic Relationship Managers.
  • Compile and execute the Large Case Management meeting inputs and outputs for London and Regions.
  • Prepare briefing notes for broker and client meetings attended by executive members.
  • Co-ordinate team tasks and reports which involve input from each Strategic Relationship Manager.
  • Champion and report on the CRM pipeline for all lines of business, assist in chasing prospects and monitoring progress.
  • Assist the Strategic Relationship Managers in scheduling large group meetings with internal and external attendees.
  • Support Strategic Relationship Managers with required MI and bespoke data reporting for specific meetings.
  • Collate information required for the branch monthly forecast report.
  • Act as Distribution business partner for selected classes of business and attend underwriting team meetings to feedback to the Distribution team.
  • Supporting SRM’s update their Broker Hierarchies and broker changes linking in with TOBA team as required.
  • Ensure the branch facilities tracker is kept up to date and socialised to the wider business on a regular basis.
  • Ownership of Distribution team Intranet page.

Skills & experience:

  • Experience: Internship or work experience within Insurance industry preferred, but not essential. 1-2 years employment in Insurance Industry preferred, but not essential.

    • Analytical & Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficiency with Microsoft office products. Comfortable working with data. Familiarity with CRM systems and reporting tools is highly beneficial.
    • Problem-Solving & Initiative: Demonstrates initiative in supporting the team and identifying process improvements. Proactive in managing individual workload and getting involved in new items. Works effectively as part of a team, supporting SRMs and collaborating across departments. Adapts to different working styles and team dynamics.
    • Adaptability & Learning Agility: Open to learning new skills and adapting to changing business needs. Seeks feedback and opportunities for personal and professional development.
