We are looking for:
- A qualified accountant with strong excel, financial control, analytical and problem-solving skills and a drive to improve processes.
- Insurance accounting experience is essential.
- An ambitious individual who readily takes ownership, proactively drives their career and will willingly support training of more junior team members.
Key Accountabilities
- Regulatory Reporting (PRA)
- Produce the Solvency UK Balance Sheet (working with the actuaries on the reporting of technical provisions and reinsurance recoverables).
- Produce the ARTs (Solvency UK Balance Sheet plus investment breakdowns, reinsurance breakdowns, P&L, Plan, breakdown by distribution channel etc.).
- Levy reporting information (FSCS, Flood Re, ELTO, London Fire Brigade).
- Quarterly group reporting pack – production and commentary of an insurance P&L by Line of Business.
- Year on year result analysis.
- Reinsurance split analysis.
- Quarterly Insurance Result Production.
- Manual profit commission calculations.
- Balance Sheet review.
- Investigating/fixing any issues working alongside the Business Partnering team.
- Quarterly balance sheet reconciliations (technical and intercompany).
- Quarterly financial controls (eg. pipeline review, negative reserve checks etc.).
- Investigate and fix any issues.
- Own communication with the auditor.
- Review / reconcile historic balances for accuracy.
- Automate processes where possible.
- Ensure process notes are up to date and easy to follow.
- Variety of projects ongoing in the business would welcome further support from finance, once the individual has mastered BAU.
