We are recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join the evening shift of a growing manufacturing business. This is a key, autonomous role within the engineering team, supporting the maintenance, repair and ongoing reliability of manufacturing machinery, production equipment and site facilities.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Engineering Manager during initial training before moving fully into the evening shift pattern. The role would suit a hands-on engineer with strong electrical and mechanical skills, ideally gained within a manufacturing, industrial or similar production environment.

  • Carry out routine inspections, planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on production machinery and site equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults across mechanical, electrical and pneumatic systems.
  • Use schematics, technical manuals and diagnostic tools to identify issues and resolve breakdowns efficiently.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, including basic welding and fabrication repairs where required.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activity, repairs and completed work.
  • Support general building and facilities maintenance when required.
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health, safety and quality standards.
  • Work independently during the evening shift, escalating issues where appropriate.

Previous experience in a maintenance engineering role within a manufacturing or industrial environment is required. Strong electrical fault-finding skills, including the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, are essential. Good mechanical knowledge, including experience with machinery repairs, is also necessary. Welding or fabrication experience would be advantageous. Experience within window, door, fenestration or similar manufacturing environments would be beneficial but is not essential.
