HD Tech is partnering with a fast-growing technology consultancy that helps organisations improve planning, reporting, forecasting, and decision-making through modern finance, data, and AI-enabled solutions. Our client is looking for a bright, commercially minded Junior AI Consultant to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional with an interest in finance, Python, AI tools, and client-facing consulting.
This role would suit someone who enjoys solving business problems, is curious about AI, and wants to build a career at the intersection of finance, technology, analytics, and consulting.
The Role
As an AI Consultant, you will support the delivery of client-facing projects, helping businesses use data, planning tools, automation, and AI to improve how they operate and make decisions. You will work alongside experienced consultants, learning how to gather requirements, analyse finance and business processes, build solutions, and support clients through implementation and adoption. This is a hands-on role with excellent exposure to real client projects from an early stage.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting client workshops, discovery sessions, and requirements gathering
- Helping analyse finance, planning, reporting, and operational processes
- Assisting with the design and configuration of planning and analytics solutions
- Using Python and AI tools to explore automation, data transformation, and workflow improvement
- Working with AI tools such as Claude, Claude Code, and other AI-enabled development environments
- Preparing client-facing materials, documentation, demos, and analysis
- Supporting consultants during implementation, testing, training, and post-go-live support
- Building your understanding of finance transformation, connected planning, AI, and modern consulting delivery
About You
We are looking for someone intelligent, engaging, curious, and confident enough to grow into a client-facing consulting role. You may be a recent graduate, or you may have gained some early experience in finance, consulting, analytics, data, technology, or business transformation.
You Should Have
- A degree or strong academic background in finance, economics, business, data, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related subject
- A good understanding of finance, business planning, forecasting, or commercial analysis
- Experience with, or a strong interest in, Python
- An interest in AI tools, especially Claude and Claude Code
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to speak with clients
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset
- Strong attention to detail
- The ability to explain technical or analytical ideas in a clear, practical way
- A genuine interest in using technology and AI to improve business performance
Nice to Have
- Exposure to financial modelling, FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, or reporting
- Experience with data analysis, automation, APIs, or workflow tools
- Familiarity with planning, reporting, or analytics platforms
- Any project, internship, placement, or personal work involving Python, AI, or business analytics
- Experience using Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or other AI-assisted development tools
