Senior Building Surveyor position within an established multidisciplinary property consultancy delivering Building Surveying and project‑led consultancy services across public sector housing and wider built environment sectors. This is a permanent hybrid role based from Bromley with responsibility for managing technical instructions, contract administration, project delivery and direct client liaison across a varied workload.

- £60,000 – £70,000 basic salary

THE ROLE
- Lead Building Surveying instructions from initial appointment through to completion
- Manage contract administration across public sector housing refurbishment and improvement projects
- Undertake building surveys, structural inspections and acquisition due diligence instructions
- Prepare technical specifications, schedules of work and formal reporting documentation
- Diagnose building defects and provide remedial recommendations
- Manage statutory approvals, compliance submissions and consultant coordination
- Act as primary client contact across assigned instructions
- Oversee contractor performance, programme delivery and technical compliance
- Support fee delivery and commercial performance across project instructions
- Allocate workload and provide technical oversight to junior surveyors
- Liaise with consultants, local authorities, contractors and stakeholder groups
- Support delivery across residential, education, community and public sector asset portfolios
ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY
Established multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy with Building Surveying, Project Management, Fire Safety and associated technical service lines. The client base includes public sector bodies, housing providers and institutional property stakeholders. Continued workload growth across public sector capital programmes has created the requirement for an additional senior appointment within the Bromley team.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or related property discipline
- MRICS Chartered status preferred
- Strong consultancy‑side Building Surveying experience
- Proven background delivering contract administration instructions
- Experience within public sector housing, residential or related built asset portfolios
- Ability to manage technical instructions independently
- Experience providing direct client advice
- Strong understanding of building pathology and technical reporting
- Previous experience supporting junior team members
- Commercial awareness in project delivery environments
