Overview

Associate-level appointment combining project management and quantity surveying responsibilities within an expanding consultancy team in Birmingham. The role has a strong private sector focus with responsibility for project delivery, client relationship management and business development. The successful candidate will support regional growth plans, contribute towards business performance objectives and progress towards future team leadership responsibilities. Permanent position with a hybrid working arrangement.

The Role

Primary focus is the delivery of project management and cost consultancy instructions while supporting business growth across Birmingham and the West Midlands.

  • Lead private sector project management and quantity surveying commissions
  • Manage projects from inception through completion
  • Provide cost consultancy advice across a range of development and property projects
  • Act as the principal client contact on assigned instructions
  • Develop new client relationships through networking and business development activities
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and additional service delivery
  • Support office growth initiatives and regional market expansion
  • Contribute towards turnover, profitability and business planning objectives
  • Monitor project performance, programme delivery and commercial risk
  • Prepare and present reports to clients and key stakeholders
  • Maintain and develop professional contacts across the regional property market
  • Support junior team members where required
  • Report directly to the team leader on project and business performance
  • Assist with strategic growth plans for the Birmingham office

Current growth within Birmingham and the wider West Midlands market has created the requirement for an Associate-level appointment to support client demand, revenue growth and future team development.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualified in a relevant property, construction or surveying discipline
  • MRICS qualified
  • Two to five years’ post-qualification experience
  • Consultancy background
  • Experience delivering both project management and quantity surveying services
  • Strong private sector project delivery experience
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and secure repeat instructions
  • Experience leading projects through the full project lifecycle
  • Knowledge of the Birmingham and West Midlands property market
  • Demonstrable business development and networking capability
  • Commercially aware with the ability to contribute towards business objectives
  • Capable of operating in a client-facing Associate-level role
  • Based in Birmingham or able to work across the regional market
