OVERVIEW
Senior-level role within a building surveying team delivering residential and public sector instructions. Strong bias toward social housing, planned works and technical reporting. Role combines instruction ownership, client-facing delivery and supervision of junior staff. Hybrid working across office, site and home. Permanent position.
SALARY & PACKAGE
- Β£60,000 β Β£70,000 base salary
- Discretionary year-end bonus linked to individual and team performance
- Pension: 5% employee / 3% employer

THE ROLE
- Lead delivery of building surveying instructions across residential and public sector assets
- Primary focus on social housing portfolios, planned works and refurbishment programmes
- Undertake inspections, defect diagnosis and produce technical reports
- Manage projects from survey stage through to contract administration
- Act as key client contact across live instructions
- Coordinate contractors, consultants and stakeholder teams
- Oversee procurement inputs for refurbishment and remedial schemes
- Monitor programme, compliance and cost reporting
- Supervise graduates, APC candidates and junior surveyors
- Contribute to fee proposals and tender submissions
- Maintain technical documentation and reporting accuracy
- Attend regular site, client and internal meetings
ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY
Multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering building surveying, project management and advisory services. Client base includes local authorities and housing providers, with consistent residential instruction flow. Service lines cover technical surveying, refurbishment and asset strategy. Growth driven by secured public sector frameworks and increased planned works programmes.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Building Surveying or related discipline
- MRICS or progressing toward chartership
- Strong residential building surveying experience
- Social housing exposure preferred
- Proven delivery of defect diagnosis and contract administration
- Experience managing client relationships and live instructions
- Ability to oversee and support junior team members
- Commercial awareness across project delivery
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
