OVERVIEW
Senior Chartered Building Surveyor position within a multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering commercial professional surveying and project instructions. The role carries direct responsibility for technical delivery, client management and fee-generating instruction ownership across Yorkshire and surrounding regions. Hybrid working available. Permanent appointment.

THE ROLE
- Lead dilapidations instructions acting for landlord and tenant clients
- Deliver technical due diligence reporting for acquisition, disposal and refinancing matters
- Manage refurbishment and fit-out projects from feasibility through practical completion
- Act as Contract Administrator under JCT contracts
- Deliver Project Management instructions
- Undertake Employer’s Agent appointments
- Prepare defect diagnosis reporting and remedial recommendations
- Produce schedules of condition
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance reporting
- Prepare reinstatement cost assessments
- Undertake feasibility appraisals
- Manage programme, budget and technical reporting obligations
- Maintain direct responsibility for client communication and instruction delivery
- Support repeat fee generation through existing client relationships
- Review junior technical outputs where required
- Mentor APC candidates and graduate surveyors
- Coordinate with internal project and cost consultancy teams
ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY
This multi-disciplinary property consultancy advises commercial property owners, occupiers and investor clients across professional surveying, cost consultancy and project delivery services. Work covers technical advisory and capital project instructions across regional commercial assets. Continued workload growth within the Leeds market has created the requirement for an additional senior fee-earning appointment.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Degree qualified in Building Surveying or related discipline
- MRICS qualified
- Post-qualification consultancy experience within commercial building surveying
- Proven dilapidations instruction delivery experience
- Technical due diligence reporting capability
- Contract Administration experience
- Project Management and/or Employer’s Agent exposure
- Working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
- Commercial client-facing capability
- Strong technical and commercial judgement
- Experience supporting APC candidates advantageous
- Full UK driving licence
