OVERVIEW
Assistant-level Building Surveyor position within a Chartered consultancy environment. Broad exposure across both project-led and professional instructions. Work spans commercial, residential, education and retail assets. Hybrid working arrangement in place. Permanent, full-time role with structured APC progression.
SALARY & PACKAGE
- £30,000 – £42,000 basic salary (DOE)

THE ROLE
- Support delivery of project and professional Building Surveying instructions across multiple sectors
- Assist with contract administration on refurbishment and improvement schemes
- Undertake defect diagnosis, condition surveys and technical reporting
- Support dilapidations instructions including inspections and schedule preparation
- Assist with Party Wall matters and statutory compliance work
- Contribute to design specifications and tender documentation
- Work alongside senior surveyors on live instructions to build technical capability
- Maintain accurate project documentation and reporting outputs
- Exposure to varied asset types including commercial, residential, education and retail
- Develop balanced experience across both project-led and professional service lines
ABOUT THE CONSULTANCY
Independent Chartered Building Surveying practice. Delivers project and professional services to a broad client base including investors, occupiers and public sector bodies. Operates across multiple asset classes. Role created to support sustained instruction growth and to develop future Chartered surveyors through structured APC pathways.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying or equivalent
- Currently working towards APC / MRICS
- Exposure to project and/or professional Building Surveying services
- Understanding of core Building Surveying duties including contract administration and technical reporting
- Ability to support client-facing instructions under supervision
- Commercial awareness appropriate to assistant level
