Assistant Building Surveyor position within an established consultancy environment in London, suited to a candidate with early practical experience seeking structured APC progression. The Role
- Support delivery of building surveying instructions across professional and project work
- Assist with inspections of commercial and mixed-use property assets
- Prepare reports, schedules, technical documentation and client deliverables
- Support contract administration and project coordination duties where required
- Liaise with clients, contractors and consultants
- Assist with defect diagnosis, condition reporting and maintenance advice
- Maintain accurate project records and instruction documentation
- Work under senior supervision while developing increasing ownership of defined tasks
- Progress APC competencies through structured internal support and formal mentoring
About the Consultancy
Established property consultancy providing building surveying and related consultancy services across London and the South East. Client base includes investors, occupiers and commercial property stakeholders across varied sectors. The role supports planned team growth through continued investment in developing future chartered surveyors.
Candidate Requirements
- RICS-accredited degree in Building Surveying or closely related discipline
- Strong academic background, ideally First Class or high 2:1
- Approximately one year of practical Building Surveying experience
- Exposure to inspections, reporting and consultancy-led surveying work
- Clear commitment to completing APC pathway
- Strong written communication and technical reporting capability
- Professional client-facing approach
- Sound organisational and commercial awareness appropriate to level
