Job Title: Freelance Drama Practitioner
Salary: £30 per hour
Location: West End Arts Centre, Aldershot
Hours: Weekly class on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm – 9.30pm
Type of Contract: Freelance
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced drama practitioner to lead our termly 12‑week Adult Drama class at the West End Centre in Aldershot. Sessions run on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm–9.30pm, and we’re looking for someone who can confidently guide a group through theatre games, drama exercises and ensemble activities that build trust, unlock creativity and strengthen confidence.
Responsibilities
Many terms conclude with an end‑of‑term sharing or informal performance, so we’re looking for someone who can support participants to shape material, rehearse collaboratively and celebrate their progress in a relaxed, supportive setting.
If you deliver engaging workshops, short courses or one‑off sessions that help people connect, take risks and discover their voice, we’d love to hear from you. In your cover letter or CV, please tell us what types of sessions you currently offer and what you would be excited to deliver in this role.
About you
Are you an experienced drama practitioner? Do you use theatre games, improvisation, movement or storytelling to help people explore identity and creativity? Are you passionate about creating safe, playful spaces where newcomers and more experienced actors can grow together? If you’re excited by the idea of leading a group in a setting known for experimentation, community and creative freedom, we’d love to hear from you.
Please note that all tutors require their own Public Liability Insurance. We will also require a DBS check for certain classes/workshops (which we can provide if required).
Equity, Diversity & Inclusion
We are inclusive, valuing, and respectful of diversity and we encourage and support the physical and mental health and wellbeing of all our staff. We are committed to implementing reasonable adjustments for candidates with disabilities in our recruitment process and in employment.
